My brief for this garden, where the clients had been restoring their grade two listed house, was to bring the garden and paddock together as a whole while dividing it in to distinct and separate character areas with lots of space for their children to play and enjoy picnics in the shade. The large garden included sloped areas, an existing swimming pool to be updated and a large vegetable garden. A masterplan design introduced zones that worked together and in which detail was developed. Beyond the garden I provided a looser design for a paddock for which with lots of mown paths and secret seating areas were set amongst the long grass.
